Kitchens That Wow

One of my favorite spaces to transform in a home is the kitchen. It is a place for family and friends to gather, cook, create and enjoy spending time together. I don't know about you, but every party, dinner, or get together I go to ends up with the guests huddled together in the kitchen!

I love kitchens that WOW. There are so many ways to make them spectacular, that it is hard to narrow it down to just a few favorite things - but I will give it a try!

Color! Yes I LOVE a colorful kitchen with deep, rich painted cabinets and elegant pulls coupled with patterned tile and accessories that add texture and functionality. I also can't get enough of all white kitchens (after all white is a color!) that use different materials to add depth and texture, creating a space that is both elegant and inviting.

Light! Kitchens with natural light are so filled with warmth, they just pull you in. From a design perspective, they are a dream and make it easy to create a space that everyone will want to congregate in! Now, you don't always have the advantage of a kitchen with great natural light, but using beautiful fixtures in all the right places can create the same effect and have a great WOW factor.

Accessories! Adding vases, cutting boards, trays, bowls, candles, flowers... you get the idea, are essential in bringing a little character to the space! When you accessorize remember to choose pieces that vary in size and that are as functional as they are eye catching. Most of all have fun with it! Remember, when you elevate your space, you elevate your mood.
