How to Give Your Old Furniture a Glow Up

We all have those tried and true pieces of furniture that perhaps hold a special place in our hearts; the ones we can't bring ourselves to get rid of, even though they don't really fit in with our decor anymore. Well you don't have to part with grandma's chest or dad's old desk- instead give that special piece a glow up and bring it into the here and now!
Of course there are several ways to do this from sanding and staining to fabric; but if you want the most cost effective, easy and efficient way to glow up your old wood furniture all you need is a little paint and some new hardware!

I have had this piece from Indonesia for years and it has weathered many moves, and many storms... literally! I absolutely love this piece and was looking for a way to incorporate it inside my home, rather than just refinishing it and leaving it outdoors. I love a good project, BUT I did not want to have to sand this down- as you can see, there are many small, intricate pieces and "ain't nobody got time for that"! Instead I used Dixie Belle Chalk Mineral Paint ( I love this brand because they have a large variety of colors, and finishes). With chalk paint there is no sanding needed! Just thoroughly clean the piece, & paint... that's it!
If you have never tried anything like this before, this is a quick and easy way to dip your toe into DIY without a lot of steps or difficult techniques and the results are gorgeous.
