Friday Five
The hubby and I took a trip along with family & friends over to Columbia, South Carolina to visit our niece, a junior at USC (go Gamecocks), who put together an impressive weekend. This week the Friday Five is all about the amazing places we visited while reliving our younger days as college students!
NO. 1 THE JOINT @ 1710 MAIN
Inspired by the Jazz clubs of the 1940's The Joint was so much fun! Great atmosphere, amazing live music, and friendly staff made this spot one of my favorites of the night! While we were there just for the cocktails, we will be back soon to try the food which looked delicious. If you are looking for a cool jazz bar vibe, this is the perfect spot!
NO. 2 PEARLZ OYSTER BAR
Great music, great bar and a fun crowd! The upstairs lounge of the oyster bar really took us back to those college days ( and made us feel a little old!). If you are looking for a fun, carefree night out that will remind you of all the things you LOVED about going out in college, this place will not disappoint!
NO. 3 JAKE'S
As their website says, "Jake's on Divine is one of the most unique and well loved bars in Columbia".
It is also very cool! With over 30 craft beers and a beautiful deck and patio, Jake's did not disappoint. The crowds were definitely out in full force adding an air of vibrancy to the evening. With a laid back atmosphere Jake's is the type of place that you can just sit back with your friends and enjoy.
NO. 4 STEEL HANDS BREWING
This was actually our first stop upon arriving in Columbia. Admittedly, I am not a beer drinker, but this brewery did have cocktails as well, which is always a plus in my book! The food was so good, and the live band playing out on the patio just made the whole experience that much better.
NO. 5 MARKET ON MAIN
This restaurant certainly did not disappoint! We were a pretty big group and the service and attention we received was impeccable. The food & drinks at Market on Main were excellent and the atmosphere couldn't be beat! They also have a market inside the restaurant that sources local gourmet food & beverages! When in Columbia...be sure to visit this spot!
