Cocktail Table Must Haves
Creating the perfect Coffee Table decor is important because it is the focal point of your living room so you want to make it stand out... in a good way!! NO.1 TRAYS
I love to have a place for everything and everything in its place and trays are an elegant way of achieving this while adding style to your decor. You can use them to add a pop of color or texture to your living room as well as help you to keep it looking fresh and tidy. It is also easy to change up your decor by changing out trays and refreshing your look instantly! Be sure to keep size in mind and use a tray that does not overpower the table, or one that is not too small either.. think Goldilocks and you will be all set.
NO. 2 FLOWERS
Anyone who knows me or has worked with me knows I LOVE flowers! For me flowers are living works of art, with so many varying colors, sizes, and textures to choose from. Bringing the outside in helps to create a seamless flow and makes your home more inviting and warm. I enjoy going out to the wholesalers and farms near me and making my own arrangements, and sometimes I use what I have in my own yard! I am also not afraid to use faux flowers; if you don't have a green thumb or you just don't have the time or easy access to a variety of flowers, this is a great option.
NO. 3 BOOKS
Books are great for adding a layered look and can help create a balance in your decor. Show your personality and use books that reflect things that you enjoy- it can be fashion, cooking, travel, dogs.. anything really. Taking old books and cover them in wallpaper or fabric will allow you to achieve a specific aesthetic or color scheme. Next time you are out and about keep an eye out for that perfect coffee table book!
NO. 4 BOOK TOPPERS
I like to place beautiful toppers on my coffee table books to add glam and elegance to my design. For me it's usually a candle, or a vase with flowers (remember NO. 2?), but it can be anything. Bowls make great toppers, as do smaller art pieces such as a sculpture.
NO. 5 FRAMED PHOTOS
If you were to get a peek into my own home you would quickly realize that I place a big premium on framed family photos! I have them spread out in various places throughout my home, and the coffee table is no exception. A beautiful frame can add yet another layer of depth to your design, so don't be afraid to add a little personal touch to your decor, in fact I believe it is a must!
