You definitely don't want to have an uncomfortable, lumpy, old mattress! In the past finding a great comfy mattress that would not break the bank was difficult, but today there are many choices for a great bed that are both cost effective and comfy.

NO.2 LUXURY BEDDING

There is nothing like getting a great night's sleep but when you are away from the comforts of your own home that can be hard to do! Providing your guests with premium sheets, a soft duvet cover, and cozy blankets is a sure fire way to ensure they get a good rest. Boll & Branch is my go to for all things bedding- made with 100% organic cotton, the softness of their products is amazing.

NO.3 MAKE ROOM IN THE CLOSET

Be sure to clear out a space in the closet for your guests to put their clothes away AND you get bonus points if you have a special place for them to store their suitcase until it's time to pack up and head home.

NO.4 PROVIDE SOME READING MATERIAL

Having some good books and fun magazines by the bed is a great way to encourage your guests to sit back, relax, and enjoy some laid back time. Having a good variety is key- they are bound to like something of what you have to offer!

NO.5 CREATE A "WELCOME" TRAY

Set up a tray with bottled water, glasses, some snacks and the Wi-Fi password! This will make your guests feel like they are staying at a resort! Include some pretty flowers and a small candle if you want add an extra delicate touch!

NO.6 ADD A MIRROR

If the room doesn't have a full length mirror consider getting one that you can place in the room somewhere (a corner usually works well). This will give your guests privacy when getting ready for a day of fun or a night out on the town- as they won't have to go through your house in search of a mirror to check out their look!

NO.7 ADD FRESH FLOWERS

This provides a light- airy feel to the room and freshens up the space. Adding color and texture to the room adds to the welcoming vibe.

It's always a good idea to have some extra blankets stored in the room in case your guests are cold throughout the night. If they are anything like me, they will appreciate it AND definitely put them to use.

If you don't have it already, get a bedside lamp which will allow your guest to read into the night, check emails, or play games on their phones, without disturbing anyone.
